Bearing Types

Basically there is only two type of bearing in all worlds,

1. Ball Bearings
2. Roller Bearing
One more type of bearing are manufacturing some brands but it is not in bearings category
3. Spherical Plain Bushing

1. Ball bearing
(All ball bearings suitable for high speed and low load application)

There are 4 categories of ball bearings

A. Deep Groove Ball Bearing
Suitable for low but redial load and high speed application,
Because of their versatility, single-row deep groove ball bearing are most popular of all the ball bearing types.
Deep groove ball beraing are available in a wide range of series defined by the ISO standard dimension plan and are also made to meet specialized dimension and configuration requirements. Deep groove ball bearing are manufactured in both standard precision grade (ISO Grade 0 - ABEC Grade 1) as well as in high precision grade.

B. Self Aliening ball bearings
Suitable for long (miss alignment) shaft but low load and high speed application.

Self-aligning ball bearings are selected for application where:
o angular misalignmen is expcted
o radial loads are hight to moderate
o thrust loads are nimimal
o aligning angle
Maximum premissible misalignment angle is about 4 degree under general service condition. If the aligning advantages of this bearing type are to be relized, care must be taken to provide.
o Ball assembly with (B1)
The dimension table as dimension B1 for larger bore sized of self aligning ball bearings where width of the ball assembly extends beyond the ring width enelope.

C. Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Suitable for angular but low load and high speed application.

Single row angular contact ball bearing is seldom used in single unit. Normally it is used in combination of two unttes and more.
High Precision, Paired combination Angular Contact Ball Bearings (ISO Class or better) are used for applications such as machine tool spindles, and are usually preloaded.

Double row Angular Contact Ball Bearings
This type is made in tow contact angle leavels. Some size of Double row angular contact ball beraings are available with contact seal (2NS or 2RS) or Shields (ZZ or 2ZR)
o Cage Material
The standard cage material for Double row ball bearings is pressed steel cage.

D. Thirst Ball bearing
Suitable for thirst but low load and high speed application.
Thrust ball beraings are made as single direction and double direction bearings. Single direction beraings can sustain an axial load in only one direction, whereas double direction thrust ball bearing can sustain bi-directional thrust loads.

Both single and double direction thrust ball bearings are avalable with aligning housing washers for mating with a housing having an aligning surface radius. aligning seat washers with an aligning surface radius are also available for ease of desing and mountinf against a flat housing shoulder.

o Bearing Numbers
Bearings are marked with only the lower three places of the part number.
When making a replacement for this bearings type, be sure to incluse the dimensions, design, and part number with your order.

2. Roller Bearings
(All roller bearings suitable for high load and low speed application)

A. Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Suitable for heavy radial load and low speed application.

Designs
the three main design types are:
a) Full Complement (''keystoned'')
b) Split-Cage design
c) Conventional

a) Full Complement ('' keystoned'') Cylindrical Roller Bearings.
To meet the drowing need for compact design and high radial capacity, Normally bearings manufaturing companies are producing numberous sizes of a new generation of full complements cylindrical roller bearingswhich utilize a (''keystoned'') design. The bearing design provides tolerance to miiderately high rotational speed in addition to the benefits of full roller retention.
Split Cage Cylindrical Roller bearings.
The split cage design allows location of a bearings in an intermediate shaft porition of a bearings in an intermediate shaft position where it may be impossible to use a conventional design.
Full complement and split cage cylindrical roller bearings are made to both the ISO stand dimensional plan and to dimenstions specified by the customer.
Please contact to bearings companies for design assistance regarding full complement and split cage cylindrical roller bearings.
Conventional Design. Cylindrical roller bearings of conventional design are available in 10 configurations. With the Exception of the RNU configuration (Which is the same as configuration NU less the inner ring), all parts consist of (at least) an inner ring, an outer ring, and a caged roller assembly. Configurations N, NU, RNU, NN AND NNU will not sustain axial loading. These configurations must be used as the ''free'' end bearing. Configurations NF, NJ and NUH are designed with the capability of sustaining axial loading in one direction. Configuration NUH is basically an NU bearing with the addition of a guide ring (an ''L'' ring). The NUH dimensional data is the same as the NH bearing configuration. Configurations NF, NJ, and NUH can sustain thrust loading in one direction. Confgurations NH, NP, and NUP have bidirection thrust load carrying capability.

B. Spherical Roller Bearings
Suitable for long (miss alignment) shaft but heavy load and low speed application.
Bearing Design
Spherical radial roller bearings are manufactured in a number of design of design and material configurations dependent on the type of application and seze of the dearing.
The type E cage will be provided as standard unless otherwise specified.
Lubrication Holes and Groove
The outer ring of Spherical radial roller bearings are often made with a lubrication hole and groove for feeding lubricant. The outer ring may also be configured with an oil hole only, depending on fitting, mounting, or service conditions.
Bearing type E with outside diameters of 240 mm or more have both oil gorrve and holes as standard. Bearings in this catedory can be ordered without the oil holes and groove.
Although premissible misalignment angle will vary with the series and service condition, the angle is about 2 degree under general service conditions.
Heat-Stabilized Bearings.
Heat-stabilization treatment is available for operating temperatures exceeds 0.6Fr, or for oscillating load applications (such as vibrating screens), contact bearings company for design assistance.
In addition to parts listed in this catalog, please contact bearings manufacturing companies for the following bearings for specific applications.
1) Triple ring bearings for the paper industry
2) Printing presses.
3) Split ring bearings for drive shafts, conveyors, and general use.
4) Corburized inner ring bearings for the steel industry and material processing applications.

C. Tapered Roller bearing
Suitable for angular but heavy load and low speed bearing

D. Thurst Roller Bearing
Suitable for heavy thirst load but low speed bearing.
